Hi everyone! I hope you’re all doing well.
Here in Sweden, weโre in the midst of spring-winterโa unique time of year often called โthe fifth season.โ The days are slowly growing warmer, while the nights still hold onto winterโs chill.
Itโs a gentle, transitional season that eases us out of the long, dark winter and prepares us for the endless light of Scandinavian spring and summer. After 6 to 7 months of freezing cold and dim days, this slow awakening is not just welcomeโitโs essential. Coming back to life takes time, and this season allows to do just that.
This year I have been longing for spring more than ever! As a passionate nature lover and botany enthusiast, I eagerly await the return of the forestโs vibrant greens and the first signs of life breaking through the soil. One of my favorite early spring blooms is the enchanting Blรฅsippa (Hepatica), pictured belowโa delicate yet resilient flower that proudly announces the arrival of Swedish spring.

Before diving fully into the new adventures of the bright season, there’s still one last little winter project Iโd love to share with you.
If youโve been following my previous posts, you probably know that during the colder months, I make it a habit to help the forest animals by leaving food in my garden. It’s my small way of giving back to nature when it needs a little extra kindness.
This winter, I decided to take things one step further. For 7 days straight, I set up a camera and captured every visitor who came by in search of a meal. I was curious to see just how many different species might pass through in such a short span of timeโright outside my window. ๐ฆ๐ฟ๏ธ๐ฆ
The results were both surprising and heartwarming. I saw familiar faces and unexpected guests, and each encounter filled me with a sense of quiet joy. These fleeting moments were so magical that I decided to turn them into a short videoโto share with you the beauty of these gentle interactions with nature.
๐ฟ The video is now live on my YouTube channelโyou can watch it here. ๐ฟ
I wonโt give anything away, but I promise itโs a feel-good watch! So take a moment, settle in, and enjoy a peaceful journey in my garden filled with grateful little visitors.
Thank you so much for reading, and Iโll see you soon with a fresh spring adventure!
Warmly,
Simona
