Spring in Sweden is simply the most awaited season, since the winters are cold, dark, and so very long. So, when it finally comes, you can feel so much joy in the air along with a few yawns and a bit of confusion, since waking up from a 7 months winter requires time and gentleness. In the kingdom of nature snowdrops, anemone of the woods and lily of the valleys are the heralds of the sweet season along with the Canada Goose that fly on the shores of the lakes for the breeding season.
The main colour of the Swedish spring is green, a cool, emerald green that becomes more and more saturated as summer approaches. The snow is almost totally melted, the air is warmer, the days start getting brighter and longer, andΒ all you want to do is just be outdoor and enjoy the sunlight and the gentle breeze.
Then the Swedish summer arrives and the days get so long that the sunlight doesn’t leave until after midnight. It’s an explosion of light and colours, in the forests and among the flowery meadows that cover hills and pastures. It’s the season of a thousand baths among the water lilies in lakes so blues it seems like the sky has fallen into them.Β It’s the season of hiking, camping and sleeping under the most beautiful skies.
Most of all, is a super short season that you would rather never end.
