Among the amazing wildlife of Bergslagen there are of course many deer. I am lucky enough to live opposite to a forest, and a few years ago some local deer came looking for food on a particularly cold winter season.
That’s when I started winter feeding them, and I am still doing it these days, as winters here can be really harsh. When temperatures drop way below zero and the ground gets icy, it’s particularly difficult for them to dig for food, so I help them a little.
Over time, I got to know two of them very well, a female and a male, as they have been coming to visit since they were young. I saw them growing up and starting a family and today their offsprings still come to my place.
I am very grateful for this encounter and I am sure that somehow they are as well.
