Salboknös Nature Reserve

Salboknös is probably one of the most peculiar nature reserves of Bergslagen. It is located between Hälleförs and Kopparberg, in Örebro county, and consists of a mighty boulder slope that very likely formed during the ice age.
The slope is populated by 500-year-old pines trees, the first of which grew here in 1480, making the nature reserve possibly Örebro County’s only truly unaffected primeval forest.
At the foot of the slope there are spruce-dominated old-growth forests in mosaics with marshes and streams so you will definitely find a varied nature here and a unique atmosphere.
